Description

HitGrab Game Labs is an award winning digital gaming agency based in Toronto with successful titles on multiple platforms. The company was founded in 2006 and released its first title, MouseHunt, in March 2008. Since it's first release on Facebook the company has gone on to develop more than 20 titles, spanning web, iOS, Android, and Steam.

History

The Games Begin

HitGrab began developing games in October 2006, during the infancy of Facebook gaming. Their first game, MouseHunt, launched in March 2008 and began to grow rapidly, garnering a dedicated, almost rabid fanbase and community. HitGrab involved their community during their game development, creating a game the fans were excited about playing. In 2011 MouseHunt won a $250,000 award from Facebook, in large part due to their dedicated fan base and unique game.

Entering Mobile Gaming

In 2013, with the success of MouseHunt under their belt, HitGrab began developing games for mobile. With more than 20 titles to their name to date they succeeded and failed a lot during the intervening years. MouseHunt transitioned from being just a Facebook game to becoming a popular idle mobile game. The game reached a milestone 5 million installs in July 2017.

Platforming

With successes in Facebook gaming and mobile gaming HitGrab turned its sights to platform gaming. Their first Steam game, a battle royale game called Outworld Battlegrounds, was the winner of the Big Indie Pitch at G-Star in 2018. With a high early access rating the game has continued to grow and garner positive reviews from players.

The Future and Edu-Gaming

HitGrab is currently developing three new games for various platforms. MouseHunt World is a geolocation game inspired by their successful first game, MouseHunt. Clan O'Conall is a 2D action adventure-puzzle platformer that was an Ubisoft Indie Series finalist in 2018 and has strong potential to be available on major consoles in addition to Steam. Language Quest is a game focused on helping gamify learning English as a second language. With MouseHunt continuing to grow, and with new projects in the pipeline HitGrab is excited to for another 10 successful years in indie gaming.
